The new DM app – “Threads from Instagram” is a new step towards improving private communication between friends.<\/p>\n

Instagram Threads was designed especially for a circle of close friends in a more secure and private space.<\/p>\n

The app is directly connected to Instagram stories and Instagram direct message (DM).<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t download and install Threads for Instagram?<\/h2>\n

Threads from Instagram is a new app, and sometimes users can’t find it within the app store.<\/p>\n

Below are a few useful explanations for why you might not be able to find the app to download via the store.<\/p>\n

Download Instagram Messenger for iOS<\/h2>\n

There’s many apps which start with \u201cthread\u201d in the app store.<\/p>\n

To find the official app you should search \u201cThreads from Instagram\u201d.<\/p>\n

You can download and install the Instagram threads app from the Apple store or Google Play store:<\/p>\n

Install Instagram messenger for Android<\/h2>\n

It is frustrating for users as they will not be able to find “Threads from Instagram” in the Play Store, even if the app name is searched completely.<\/p>\n

Instead of searching for the app, search for “Instagram”.<\/p>\n

Navigate to the Instagram download page, scroll down and in a section labelled as \u201cMore by Instagram\u201d you will find the Threads from Instagram app to download and install.<\/p>\n

Try add Instagram\u2019s Threads app to the \u201cWishlist.\u201d<\/p>\n

It will appear in the \u201cWishlist\u201d of the Google Play Store or Apple Store.<\/p>\n

After successfully downloading and installing the Threads from Instagram app, you can try the below steps to get started and make the app run:<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/h2>\n

Log in to Threads from Instagram<\/h3>\n

Run Instagram Threads and choose a sign in method; either sign in with an Instagram account which is already active on your mobile device or sign in with another Instagram account.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/h2>\n

Pick your friends<\/h3>\n

If you have a list of \u201cClose friends\u201d on Instagram, they will be displayed here, otherwise, search for friends in search box and add them to the list.<\/p>\n

When all friends are added, click \u201cDone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/h2>\n

Customise Camera<\/h3>\n

Either \u201cSkip\u201d this step or click on \u201cCustomise Camera.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this step you can edit and place up to 8 of the \u201cmost messaged to close friends\u201d at the bottom of the camera and make it easier to send them messages.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h2>\n

Auto Status<\/h3>\n

Picking a status lets connections know what you are doing.<\/p>\n

For Auto status to work properly click \u201cTurn on\u201d and give Threads access and permission to the device\u2019s location, battery level, images, battery level and videos etc.<\/p>\n

Threads will automatically set the status for the Instagram account, even when inactive.<\/p>\n

You can set the status manually by picking any option too.<\/p>\n

Once you are finished with this simply click \u201cDone”.<\/p>\n

Connect with Close Friends on Threads from Instagram<\/h2>\n

Shut down the Instagram messenger app and restart it.<\/p>\n

The first thing which appears on the mobile phone’s camera.<\/p>\n

Click to take a story and send it to friends.<\/p>\n

It reveals the emphasis Instagram puts on the connection between friends and also creating stories.<\/p>\n

Send your close friends the stories<\/h2>\n

Click the \u201cHome\u201d icon to go to your close friends\u2019 chat list.<\/p>\n

Navigate to the home screen of Threads from Instagram, on the top at the left there is a setting icon, click this.<\/p>\n

Settings lets you edit a variety of features on Instagram Threads, for example arranging the close friends\u2019 list, choosing a status, customising the camera and creating groups\/hidden groups.<\/p>\n

Get in touch with friends and send them stories<\/h2>\n

The groups created in Threads from Instagram will also show up in the original Instagram Direct Message inbox, with all the chat and threads which you have made.<\/p>\n

Also, the stories published by the Instagram messenger app will show up in the original Instagram app, with a \u201cclose friends\u201d label at the top.<\/p>\n
